Not only is this tournament to honour my brother Ryan and enjoy the sport he loved so much but to address mental health and concussions. My goal with this tournament is to raise awareness about the serious side affects associated with traumatic brain injures and second impact syndrome. To set up a specific protocol within minor hockey associations specifically related to baseline testing and post concussion management / return to play guidelines as well as address the stigma associated with mental health within the hockey community. On this website you will find links to tournament schedule and results, information on mental health and concussions as well as baseline testing.
We are very excited and honoured to announce that the Ryan Donaldson Memorial Tournament has been able to make donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association and Foundry BC with a grand total of $23,000! This would not have been possible without the support from our amazing athletes, spectators, volunteers and everyone else involved. The gratitude my family and I feel can not be put into words. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts to every single one of you for the time, energy, money, tears, heart and soul put into this weekend. We can not wait to see what the next years bring.
